Service Description

The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviors expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors. It outlines the minimum standards that should be covered if you are 'new to care' and should form part of a robust induction programme. This induction course compiles all the necessary courses into one reduced cost induction pack. We recommend that a new fulltime employee should complete the Care Certificate within 12 weeks of starting their new role. Skills for Care suggest that experience from pilot sites demonstrates this is feasible for new fulltime staff. Although the Care Certificate is designed for new staff, it also offers opportunities for existing staff to refresh or improve their knowledge and skills.
